The Fourth of July

JULY - Avery is now closer to being 3 years old than she is to being 2 years old! Holy cow!

Avery is doing amazing on her potty training, she reached her goal of using the potty 10 times in a flash. To celebrate her hard work Steven and I took her to Jabbers - Jabbers is an indoor play place for young kids, it is the perfect place to burn off energy during a hot summer day.

On July 3rd Avery and I made shirts for the 4th of July. I made Avery's shirt and Avery made my shirt and a shirt for my mom. It was a huge mess haha.

The final result

On that same day Steven went over to my parents' house to see a dog that they had found the night before, it was love at first sight. Steven took the dog to the vet to see if she had a chip and to get her checked out, the dog was malnourished and dehydrated. The dog wasn't chipped but she did have a tattoo in her ear which indicted she was pure. We checked several sources to see if anyone was looking for the dog but came up empty so we took her home. She is a German wire-hair pointer, we named her Sadie :)

We spent July 4th at my parents' house for the annual block party, there was tons of food and fun. Steven was in charge of the fireworks again this year, but since Quinn didn't spend the holiday with us, Steven had to do it alone - it was a great show though. Kristen and the boys came over to watch the fireworks with us :)

The month prior Steven had won a horseback ride for 2 in Grandjean, which is a few hours away. I had never been horseback riding before so it pretty exciting for me :) The ride was an hour long through the woods, the view was absolutely amazing! It was the first ride of the season so some of the horses were being ornery, Steven's horse was sooo slow, even the guide's horse had an attitude, my horse was great though.

June pt 2

The second half of June's update, I'll start this update with a little humor.

Steven doesn't seem keen on more babies

We took Avery to Dairy Days this year, I've lived in Meridian since 2005 and have never once made it to Dairy Days haha. We went with my parents and had a pretty good time, there were little rides, jumpy houses, good food, and live entertainment.

The day I've been waiting for since the day Avery was born has finally come - she is potty trained!! Avery still wears diapers at night, at day care, and when we go out of the house but she is very good about letting me know when she has to use the restroom. She was doing so well that I made her a potty board and gave her a sticker whenever she had a good day - when she gets 10 stickers we're going to do something fun.

I had a much needed girls' night this month! Avery had a good time playing with the other kids and I enjoyed hanging out with my friends.

My parents had gone camping this month and left the pug with us, she is not exactly a camping dog. Avery was very excited to pug-sit for the weekend.

On Sunday, Yvette took Avery to the zoo while my mom came over to the house and got the pug.

Not long later my mom sent a text saying that she broke her toe and was on her way to the emergency room. Mom accidentally kicked the ottoman trying to avoid the dog...oh boy.

Mom's broken toe :/

Friday the 13th

June was a very interesting month full of ups and downs.

Steven took Avery camping with his parents which was a first. There was no cell service so for 3 days I had no idea how my baby was doing, it was pretty miserable actually. To kill time I put in some overtime at work and made shadow boxes for our Spartan race stuff. My loves came home safe and sound on Sunday evening with pictures and stories :)

This month was unlucky enough to have a Friday the 13th and what a day it was. To start things off I was late to work and spilled hot coffee on my hand, later that day there was an odd smell throughout the building so the employees were evacuated (the belt in the A/C unit blew), when we were allowed back into the building we had to keep the A/C off until it could be fixed, I was miserably hot the rest of the work day.

Waiting to be let back into the building

Mom and I had tickets to go to a Hawk's baseball game that evening, I had never been plus there were going to be fireworks so I was really excited. A few minutes into the game I got a phone call from Steven, all I could hear was Avery screaming bloody murder in the background. It turns out that Steven and Avery were making a giant fort in the living room, they needed an extra chair so Steven grabbed one from the patio, unfortunately there was a wasp's nest on the underbelly of the chair that fell off into the kitchen.... Avery picked up the wasp's nest and got stung a few times on the hand :( :( :( I raced home and found Steven and Avery in my bed with an ice pack on her hand and watching cartoons - the nest was still on the kitchen floor trapped by a cup. Steven and my mom were in charge of killing the wasps while Avery and I stayed upstairs (although we found a few still lingering in the house the next day). We managed to get Avery out of bed for ice cream but she complained several times about her hand hurting, it broke my heart.
